To protest the illegal behavior ordinance, the targeting of California plates for tickets, for having a city Judge who never has ruled against the Police on any matter and forces California citizens to travel back to Havasu for every little motion when you fight a ticket, for speed trap type of measures to ticket and the newly formed police unit to target the channel I ask all California citizens to join me in a boycott of Lake Havasu this Memorial Day. I am taking my family to Lake Mohave instead.
Hopefully the citizens of Lake Havasu will see that they need us more than we need them and will do something to make thier city more visitor friendly.
I have been told on thier city newspaper message board that the people do not want us, do not need us and Californians are not welcomed!
Boycott Lake Havasu!

Why would Californians go to Lake Havasu? Don't you have the ocean? I'm sure the decent people of Arizona would rather Californians keep ruining their own state instead of Arizona! Now I would bet that you and your family are nice people and are paying for the idiots that are causing these problems in Havasu, so don't think I am picking on you here

Half the lake is actually in CA. The border runs down the middle.

Tons of people from the coast take their boats out to Havasu all the time. Lakes and oceans aren't quite the same thing.

I'll do my part We have gone there several times in the past, and believe you me - they do need our business!! The majority of people that visit are from California. There are plenty of other Lakes / Rivers.... Lake Havasu is not the "end all, be all." I like your idea of going to Lake Mohave instead (beautiful lake.) Lake Havasu is not family friendly. We much prefer Parker, or even Laughlin.

Thanks for the heads up

Lake Havasu is not anyone from out of town friendly.

We have found Lake Mohave a great place to hang out. The casinos mean lots of hotel rooms and secured parking. It has lots to do for kids after a day on the lake too, great food.

We still love Havasu, we just do not want to see what has happened to our friends happened to others. We have heard the local judge, who is an ex cop supervisor of the cops in the city, has never ruled against the police. EVER!! We have spoken to people who were denied the right to call a lawyer, people who were made to come back to Havasu 8 times for minor rulings that no other court makes you show up for, and the Judge even disallowed video of the suppossed behavior that got someone arrested because it showed they did not do as accussed.

Shameful!

It has come to light that the local PD are our scouring the net to try and confuse the issue of "FALSE" arrests they are making with ligitimate ones. This is really happening on a similar thread in the Arizona portion.
If it does happen here do not be confused. Nobody objects to real arrests (a fair trial would be great but that cannot happen until the ex-cop judge is replaced). The objection is the targeting of out of town tourists who are targeted because they have a nice boat and cannot stick around to fight a ticket. It happens all the time in Havasu.

The problem is that the cop's will pull you over anyway and SAY you swerved, made a illegal lane change, or went through a red light. You then must go before the Judge, who just retired from the police force and was the supervisor of the guy who accused you.
What are you chances? ZERO

Lake Mohave is just as nice, has great facilities, and a police force that is not looking to fill the city treasury with fine money from tourist pocket
