I'm sorry lol, but that's almost unheard of. You can barely get $800/per month + paid utilities in the worst parts of Anaheim.

Nice try though.....

20+ years later things are different. WAY more expensive. Idk how expensive CA was to live in before in the past (maybe it was ALWAYS expensive based on the salary ranges and COL?), but it's certainly waaaaay expensive these days. You can barely even rent a room for $700 these days..

A client of mine just leased a 900 square foot apartment in Laguna for $4k/month.

Your best bet is San Clemente, there are some studios/1 bedrooms in the $1200-1300 range if you look around.

Your client sounds like a chump! 4k lol! You can get a bigger apartment at club laguna apartments in the canyon for around 1500-1600 also they will throw in a free month included sometimes.

Uh, the Club laguna Apartments are only "marginally" in Laguna beach. That's more like Aliso Viejo than it is Laguna Beach that's why the prices there are so low.

They are still in the city of Laguna Beach regardless

Yeah but anyone living there would have to their daily errands or shopping in Aliso Viejo or Lake Forest. That's only Laguna Beach because it's within the city limits but it's not Laguna "Beach".

There's a huge price difference between an apartment at Club Laguna Beach and one that is sitting 100 feet from PCH.

So I'm not sure how you can call his client a chump without knowing any details.

Agreed, maybe a room to rent for under $1,000 if you're lucky.

I see nothing under $1800 in Laguna Beach, and $1800 is for a studio. $1950 for 1br 500sqft apartment.

Edit: 300sqft studio for $1395! https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/apa/6094873227.html

Club Laguna is slightly different than an apartment with high end finishes in the heart of the village, but ok. I wouldn't even consider that area Laguna Beach.

Anyways, my point was the city is extremely expensive, even for small apartments.

Regardless it is still in the city limits so it is LAGUNA BEACH Lol!

The city is cheap if you know where to look, for many middle/lower income residents there is a free food pantry that many shop at 20652 Laguna Canyon Road.
