I was walking down a street in a city in Sweden (around Christmas time, and this was in the 1980s) and I saw a store display with a Santa doll driving a kid sized Porsche 911 Targa with the roof panel off, a fake size proportionate surfboard sticking up, and a fake California personalized plate in the front plateholder.

Is John Bates going to pay for the DACA program out of his pocket?

The REAL DACA fight was March 20th during the spending bill debate and we all know how that went. The Democrats completely abandoned the DACA kids and the program got no funding in the Omnibus.

Funny thing is President Trump said DACA should have been among the items included in the spending bill but Democrats didn't want to give Trump any leeway on increasing Wall spending and ending Visa Lottery. So DACA kids got screwed.

“I say this to DACA recipients: that the Republicans are with you, they want to get your situation taken care of. The Democrats fought every single inch of the way, they did not want DACA in this bill.”

This leftist liberal judge can try to legislate on an Obama executive order program, but he can't create money out of thin air. Good luck running the DACA program for free.

Very old news.

leftist liberal judge? I should borrow your laughing gif for that one

"Born in October 1946 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Bates was appointed by former President George W. Bush for the District of Columbia. He is also the first Republican appointee to rule against President Donald Trump’s move to end the immigration program.

Bates first joined the court in 2001 after being nominated by Bush and assumed senior status on Oct. 12, 2014. He had previously served on the United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court from Feb. 22, 2006, till Feb. 21, 2013. He also served as the director of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts until Jan. 4, 2015. He was appointed by Chief Justice John G. Roberts on June 11, 2013. Bates served in the U.S. Army as a first lieutenant from 1968-1971. "

You can copy my laughing emote if you want, I consider imitation to be flattering and don't look upon it negatively.

As for your point about Bates being appointed by Bush, SCOTUS Justice Kennedy was appointed be Reagan. Is he considered conservative?

Judges can be nominated by Republican presidents or Democratic presidents but do not necessarily share the same political leanings as those who nominated them.

This is all besides the main point that DACA is dead, and Democrats were the ones who killed it on March 23rd.

That is all factually incorrect. The last year for which data is available on legal immigration (2016) we got more immigrants from Sweden than Moldova (48,294 to 42,403) and additionally 33,715 from Denmark and 22,669 from Norway.

The largest group of legal immigrants from Europe came from the UK (696,896) first, then Germany (563,985). Russia was fourth with 397,236, which is a little more than half of what we get from the UK.

Your assumptions about why people immigrate are completely wrong.

The narrative is that Western Europeans don’t want to come here which is malarkey. Many Germans, for example, would jump at the chance. I know this first hand.
