Default tell me about FULLERTON

Cal State Fullerton has a graduate program in public administration which is what i'm looking for. It is not at the top of my list but I find the weather in Southern California to be very pleasant and with the large number of cities within the region I don't think finding a job in local government after I graduate would be difficult. Still, I know nothing about Fullerton. What is it like? I'm in my 20s...so I mean, just keep that in mind I guess. I have a car. I don't mind driving. I like eating at good restaurants...and goign to the movies, and hanging out with friends at pubs and bars. The usual I guess.

You'll be fine. There's plenty to do within a 30 minute drive or less. Fullerton, Brea, and Orange all have downtowns with stuff to do.

I'm not that familiar with north county rents. Check out Craig's List, rent.com, etc. You should be able to get a 1 bedroom for $1200 or so. Beware of anything that looks too cheap unless you want to live under 4 illegal families crowded into one apartment.

Rent should be fine. CSUF and Fullerton College(2yr) are in the area and that helps keeps the rents reasonable for students.

thanks guys. I don't mind having roommates either, thats just a part of life in an expensive area of the country. Plus I figure its a good way to make quick friends in a new area...assuming the roommates are good people haha.

CSU-Fullerton is a great school. I'm not familiar with their PA graduate program, but I know if my wife and I decide to stay in Orange County, I'll apply for the grad program there in Kinesiology. I like it here, there are things to do. SOCO District (downtown Fullerton) has a lot, then the Block at Orange, Downtown Brea, etc.

If you're a grad student, you won't need a big place, so you can get away with a 1 bedroom for a little over $1000- 1500. You said you may be interested in a roomate, but private room? That'll bring it way down!

Lastly, check out who's in the NCAA b-ball tourney! That's right, the Fullerton Titans. Just a plug for the school.

Go Titans! Class of 2003 here. Fullerton is a very cool city for college types. Apartments directly around the campus are very reasonably priced. In fact, up until 2004, my wife (girlfriend at the time) lived within walking distance of campus in a nice 2 bedroom for $1000/month. There are deals out there, you'll just have to drive around and look. Check off Placentia, which is just east of the 57 freeway. There are also a lot of apartment buildings just south of Chapman west of State College. Bastanchury also has a number of large apartment complexes north of the campus. I used to live in this area and would skateboard or ride a bike to class, parking there is attrocious to say the least. The part I miss most about Fullerton are the dollar beer nights at some of the local bars. I also miss Rigoberto's (a hole in the wall mexican food joint that served up some serious carne asada burritos). Sometimes I miss college so much. Fullerton is definitely a commuter school, but it also can provide a great college experience if thats what you're looking for.
