I used the word patrol because I live in an apartment and hardly believe California Safety Agency deserves to be called "security."

Anyway last night they were out scanning cars very unsubtly. These are older scanners that make loud noises and bright light blue flashes when used. This was after midnight and it freaked me out enough that I called my mom and had her take my cat for the day in case my place was broken into.

I'm not sure if they were on top of the carport (I've seen numerous people climb up there over the years, including other security companies), or it they were walking on the ground. I distinctly heard them say "this one," *scan noise and flash* "it's registered." "Let's go." In any event it was so weird and obviously not how they usually do it.

Should I worry about a potential break in? Or is impossible they were just training a new guy? I'm still pretty weirded out and my cat is still at my mom's place. It's possible these were teenagers scanning for security systems. This is Anaheim, so there's that, too.
