Talking Moving to Huntington Beach

Hi Everyone!

I am just trying to gather information as I am planning on moving to Huntington Beach so I can attend Golden West. I am interested in learning about the employment rates there, and if it will be fairly easy for a college student to find work. I am also wondering about apartment complexes or places to live that will allow pets. I have 2 cats, declawed and shots are up to date. I am very excited about the opportunities and experiences that Orange County in general has to offer Any other info you can add is helpful too!!

Thanks for tips, but I did look at some of those, and they didn't help me with any of my answers

I was also wondering if there are any of those college-cluster apartments... the kind where there are 4 bedrooms/4ba with personal locks, that share a living room, kitchen and laundry? Even if they aren't right by Golden West that is okay...

We have this SAME thread it seems like every other day! The same people advocate for the area, the same people disagree with those advocating. This one will be no different than the bazillion other threads like this one. Enough with the Huntington threads, we never get new ideas out of them.

I don't think you will find it difficult to get part time work, if you have a car. Rates are average for that kind of work, $8-10 hr. Check craigslist.org for Orange County and post for roommate situation.

Hey Jessa! Your going to love it there HB is such an awesome place! Im moving in August, and going to GWC too! We are renting a house though, we looked on realtor.com and alot of times they tell you if they accept animals. Alot of places take cats more than they would dogs so you shouldn't have any problems! You can waitress, bartend, or work in a retail store. It is very easy for a college student to get work there (theres going to be 3 of us), craigslist has a job section you can look at too. I hope everything works out for you! Maybe well run into each other at school hehe! When are you moving?

Default Huntington = Yes

Hi,
I went to Golden West College while living in Huntington Beach and LOVED my time there. I had a nice apartment off Brookurst and Hamilton, only a mile or so from the beach, and completely took the area for granted now that I'm looking back on my younger days. When I had to move back with my folks in Brea I still attended Golden West College, commuting 20 miles each way by bus because I liked it there so much. The one great thing with Huntington is that for a beach town, it encompasses a lot of land pulling inland about 7 or 8 miles, so you have tons of apartment rental options and could probably find something relatively affordable. Of course there are neighborhoods that are 'so so' and some that are better, but overall, HB is a great place to live!!
