We are moving to the Irvine area from NJ this summer. My daughter will be starting high school this Fall. She has taken Latin in school so we are looking for a high school that offer latin. In addition, would like to know more about schools in the area and we are open to schools outside the Irvine district as well if they offer Latin and are really good. Would prefer public schools but open to private schools too (though not sure if private school admissions are done for the coming year). Thanks!

Where is the house? Is it in Irvine (you say in the Irvine "area")? Do you know what high school your neighborhood feeds into?

These would helpful things for people to know before they can assist you.

Generally speaking, all of the public high schools in Irvine are very good - relative to what you will find around the County and around the Country.

We will rent initially depending on the high school she will attend.

University High and Woodbridge High offer Latin and are well regarded schools.

My girlfriend's kids are all products of Irvine Unified/ Woodbridge and they are the smartest kids I know.

The curriculum is tough I have heard.

I don't know anything about their specific Latin program though.

I know the district is ranked very high nationwide and so are the individual schools, ranked highest in the area too, much tougher than surrounding districts.
