Does the tv show resemble anything like real life in the OC? Just wondering.

its a highly exaggerated view of teenage life in rich newport/laguna area. sure, some things may be based in common stereotype(which have shades of truth), but it's a soap opera for the most part, so it's not to be taken as how people actually live

It is representative of a small population of Newport and Laguna as bhcompy said. Similar to Laguna Beach and the Real Housewives of Orange County. Sure there are people that live that that here. But it represents those 30 people versus the over 3 mil that live here.
