Just to cut to the chase, I put a hold on a new build property in the OC, and I signed the disclosure contract stating I didn't use a real estate agent. I have five days to formally sign the contract to purchase the home. During the five days, I'll need to review the term on the contract and make sure it is fair.

So my question is...is it possible to simply hire a real estate agent to review the contract for me? They wouldn't get a commission, but I would definitely pay for their services. How would I go about finding one with new-build experience?

Imo
Better have a RE lawyer do it. Real estate agents aren’t lawyers.

But would a RE lawyer know how to review new build contracts? I am not so much wanting legal advice...I just want to make sure I am getting everything I should expect in the contract. I have heard builders conveniently leave out items that should be included, so that you'd have to pay more. I've also heard builders can ban RE agents from helping in the design studio portions of the build unless they are listed as a buyers agent in the contract.
