Hi,

We are from East Coast and thinking to move OC, specifically in Irvine. We are interested to know whether Irvine Schools provide bus service. I tried to look into Irvine School”s transportation website and it mentions about bus service.

I am wondering whether bus service is available in every Irvine neighborhood or only certain areas only.

We would appreciate any good info on Irvine School bus service.

Thanks.

I have not seen any buses. Yep. 8 am meetings be damned. Be a "good" parent.

If I remember correctly, only elementary & middle schools have buses and they are $390 a year for a bus pass.

Things may have changed in the last year.

How far do you live from the school? When I was a kid in OC high schoolers had to be outside of a 2 mile zone to qualify for the bus. And we had armloads of books to carry home each night. So I clearly am not answering your question but am curious how things have changed.

I live 4 miles from the high school. Elementary is like 200 yards so no issues there. Look, like all humans, we adapt, but still, sort of sucks as the bus was convenient and it helped with socialization. I've lived in 3 cities in Texas, South Carolina, DC/Nova, Denver, Seattle. All had buses.

I assume this is a public school and your address is assigned to go there? If so I agree that there should be an organized transport system. Expecting every household to drive separately clogs the road, is inefficient in fuel use, and interferes with jobs I would think. Hopefully someone can get you some options. Otherwise see if you can post locally on Facebook or nextdoor.

You definitely need to move where they have buses…all you do is complain about what is here

Where? Oh, is that your way of saying "love it or leave it?" I'm so touched Lola. I'll be here, don't worry.
