I am moving from cold and dreary Boston to take a new job in OC ! I am looking forward to the sun, as I am an avid swimmer, surfer, and golfer and thankfully will now enjoy these activities all year long! Also, I have suffered considerable trauma living in Boston: old ratty apartment complexes, very rude landlords, no parking, poor upkeep ... I am looking forward to a new start and an improved lifestyle. I will most likely buy in a year or two, so have to rent for now: am interested in Irvine, Newport Beach, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills/Niquel (am not sure yet if I want to be near the beach or in the canyons). I have been searching apartment websites, etc. and am getting confused by all the uneven and often contradictory reviews: can anyone recommend some methods to find a place to live (or actual complexes): I am in my late 30s, professional, who would like a safe, social, yet relatively quiet place to live, with good parking and responsive staff: is that too much to ask? --Sean

Rent budget is $1500 to $1800 per month; purchasing a home will have to wait for another year or two. Any ideas re: renting? Thanks in advance.
