Both Consumer Reports and J.D. Power consistently rank Verizon as one of the best. I've been with all of the big cell phone companies over the years, and I agree with most of the others here - Verizon is the best.

I've been T-mobile for years... plenty of reception black holes all over the place in SoCal. But... it's among the cheapest and I can international phones so when I'm done we can send them to our family in Vietnam to use.
BTW, my brother has the old iPhone with T-Mobile... through a cell phone place in Little Saigon. ^_^
Dunno if they've cracked the new ones yet--I'll let you know when my brother gets one.
My friends with Verizon have never complained about their reception... just the prices... >_<

You get what you pay for. I used to use T-Mobile's SoCal network back when it belonged to PacBell PCS which became Cingular. Yep, dead spots galore. It wasn't until I switched to Verizon that I realized it wasn't normal to have to run around between windows looking for one with enough signal to make a call. I'd rather pay twice as much for Verizon and have it work when I need it.

Verizon by far has the best coverage in OC but it cost more than the others on average. Just get all of your friends and family to be on Verizon so that they'll be IN network, so when you call any of those people it doesn't use your monthly minutes

I had tons of problems with verizon... weird charges on my bill and things like that, but I now have boost mobile. I never have less than 3-4 bars and for unlimited talk and text I only pay $53.00 a month. I love that my bill will never change, and that I get better reception than when I had a "real" phone service.

T-Mobile is awful!
We relocated from DFW to Misison Viejo with T-Mobile and it is horrible. Our plan is up in December and I cannot wait to cancel this service. I have heard from numerous folks that verizon is great out here and that is the carrier I am going to contract in December. It would be nice to actually finish a phone call. The T-Mobile service is like a bad commercial where the conversation is continually, "can you hear me?, hello?, hello? and then here nothing but static as the phone is thrown out the window under the nearest car tires! I think you get my point.

Can't you cancel the plans because it breaks the contract? I.e. not having enough coverage/black spots repeatedly = failure of the company to stand by its advertised promises. Don't you have a trading standards to bully people around

THANK YOU everyone so much! I'm grateful for all of your input. It's settled then: Verizon it shall be. I understand Verizon gives you 30 days to cancel, too, so we'll know. Yaaaayyyy!!! Now I just gotta decide which cool new phone I want!

i have been with each of the major carriers for over two years apiece. Non of them are very good. You will have problems with any of them. Verizon is the best by a hair, but if you get out in rural areas or in other states much, AT & T is probably better. Just try them all. Hate them all, then start all over again.
