Hello I am about to graduate from community college and I figure I'd better get my butt off the computer (ironically lol) and get a job specific to my major. My major is in accounting and I plan to get my BA in accounting in the next two years or so. I will only be going to school after 6pm so this gives me an excellent opportunity to seek work.

I would normally post this in the work & employment forum but I am looking for information that is related to the socal area. Specifically, so cal resources available to this area.

I've looked in all the usual places - college career center, craigslist, monster/careerbuilder, oc register sunday job ad.

Does anyone know any other resources that I would find useful? What have you people found useful in locating jobs?

I've also heard that employment agencies maybe helpful but some aren't so great.

I've heard that Apple One is good for temp/ temp to hire. As for a good book to get, I recommend Knock 'Em Dead by Martin Yate for job hunting advice. Not sure about other places to find job postings, although just networking through people you know is always the best if possible.

Office Team is way better than APPLE One, just do a google search for Accounting employment agencies. But you do need to know how to type at least 40 WPM so if you don't have this skill you should maybe take a class or down load some programs to practice before going to an agency.
