Question Commute- Lake Forest to Carson (past Long Beach, 405 meets 710)

Realistically, how much time would it take to commute from Lake Forest to Carson, working the typical 8-5ish full time job? I have not commuted that far before and I don't know what kind of traffic to expect in the morning going north or at night going south during rush hour.

Any advice or comments are appreciated!

Depends on where in Lake Forest you start. It could take anywhere from 1 to 20 minutes to get to the 405/5. Then figure 45 minutes to 1:15 or more to you destination.

At least an hour as a single driver at those hours. You could maybe reduce it to 40 minutes on the freeway at rush hour by getting a carpool buddy or joining a van pool that heads that way. There are at least 20 van pools that depart from the Laguna Hills Mall next to Lake Forest off of El Toro Rd. Check Enterprise Rideshare, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Vanpool or Vanpool Program - Overview

It is more driving than I want would want to do, but it is your decision in the end.

traffic on the 405 starts to really back up around long beach, so the last portion of the commute north on the 405 is really going to be slow.
