Mission Viejo High School
I am a high school student from the midwest moving to Mission Viejo and I will be attending Mission Viejo High School. How will I be seen by the native Californians and how will I be treated? Not sure what to expect. Any information would be helpful! Thanks

i would think you would be fine, but south orange county is a bit more about image than other parts of the county(ie: sticking out because of a midwestern accent or not being in trendy clothing would put you more at risk for ridicule). we're very diverse here, so people are usually fairly open, but theres always someone to spoil the fun

Mission Viejo HS....great football, great band, competitive academics, hell to get out of at the end of the school day if you drive a car.

My kids went to MVHS after we moved from the midwest. I think that school was more down to earth than many of the other south OC schools. You'll find that many people in California aren't natives so no one really seems to care (at least we never met any that superficial). Get involved with a group/music/sport and you'll make friends quickly. Another thing - the kids at MVHS come from a handful of different middle schools so they don't all know each other either.
Good luck!

What about for sports such as football or baseball. I'm not sure if I would be liked by some kids if I were to take their spot or something. Also i'm not sure if they would welcome a new athlete or wouldn't like me just cause they don't know me.

Listen, Mission Viejo (and So Cal) is full of people from somewhere else. As far as the natives go, we tend to not give two hoots where someone is from. Just practice the Golden Rule and and don't take any **** from the cholos.
You might want to consider becoming an Angels fan in addition to the Twins, though.
