Does anyone have a general idea of construction cost in the LAguna Beach area.

I am planning to build a home in Laguna Beach on a 2500 sg ft plot of land.

I was hoping to receive information such as

Designing costs for a 1800 sq ft home
Construction Cost
Other associated costs.

Thank you

First, sir I must admit my lack of knowledge in home construction. I am more "into" the resale, and investments. I believe construction costs generally run about $800,000 + cost of land.

A few months ago, I read a great article in the LA Times. Amazingly, a couple built a home for $433,000 on a $89,000 lot! ..So honestly anything is possible!

I found it! ...here's the article:

WOW!! My dot owns an old house there and we were going to look at another old house for a teardown. I've just changed my mind.

Default Thats about right

Im a general contractor and $500.00 per square foot sounds right but the price may vary quite a bit depending on the lot and also on your floor plan if you would like i can estimate your project for free and you'll have a better idea. Feel free to call me at 714-869-6993 ask for mike or danny.

Great question. However, if anyone quotes you prices with out looking at drawings first, they are talking out of their back side.
Quality Contractors don't just blurt out numbers. If you are looking to build, I can refer you to several good Contractors and let them work up a realistic quote for you. jsirvine@yahoo.com
