Even though I don't live in the O.C. (I work there, though), I thought it was a good idea for the administrator to create an Orange County sub-forum.

Now, let's see if the Ventura County residents will get their own sub-forum.

A while back, I almost left the message boards here because well, there was so much negativity for me. I had all kinds of people telling me to let go of my idea of moving to Southern California, especially Orange County.

It was hard, but I decided to not let the naysayers get to me. What was most surprising is that people made all kinds of assumptions about me, especially that I couldn't afford to live in Southern California! LOL It was crazy! I mean, hubby and I both have college degrees, have been working in our fields for years, and I also have certifications in other areas, besides running my own business. And, we're hardworking and have been smart with our money.

I guess the lesson for me was to continue to be positive and not let the negativity get me down. Then, the movie "The Secret" came out and it further confirmed my convictions and beliefs...I'm practicing the ideas in it, well, I have for many years

So glad I stayed around

Thanks for the OC! I'm going to read this forum often. I plan to relocate my family from San Diego to the OC this year. This forum will be very instrumental to where we plan to live.

Los Al, Irvine, HB, FV, CM, Aliso, Laguna. All possibilities!

That sort of negativity is pretty typical on message boards like this. Let's face it, when people are happy with something, they're out enjoying it. It's only when someone has a complaint that they come to a message board to voice it, and the result is that these boards are heavily biased toward the negative.

OC rocks!!! If you love the beach and great weather, it's unbeatable!
