Arnold would have fit into the old California GOP very well. Dianne Feinstein if she had been 20 years older would've been a Republican.

And Nixon, the only president from OC (and of the 3 California presidents the only one born in CA), was a moderate except on Cold War issues.

somewhat true: but worth noting another "version" of #1 did back Obama, let's call them the RRs, as well as some bible thumpers.

though these people may or may not identify themselves as Democrats...
Dems also have a lot of Limousine Libs infiltrating their party, which is probably one of the most interesting aspects in changing demographics between parties - they've almost caught the GOP in that regard.

That is so true! I have emailed Feinstein numerous times to resign. She is super pro-corporations\ law enforcement\ too moderate for most Democrats\ & too old. Sadly, if she decides to run for governor no one will run against her Barbara Boxer & Nancy Pelosi better represent the pulse of California. Feinstein reminds me of the old Republican party of Rockefeller\ Bloomberg.

Yeah, BB & NP have no understanding of economics, are completely out of touch with the business world, have zero knowledge of military affairs, don't believe in border integrity and are out to lunch on energy policy.

They do perfectly represent Californians!

Republicans are a thing of the past...21st century, global economy, internet don`t mix with: death penalty, gun owners, evangelicals, kicking ppl out of hospitals for not having medical insurance, Sarah Palin, Joe the plumber...etc
Technologically America is an advanced country, however socially is highly unsophisticated!

??? hahahaha! Your neo liberal ideology is what Barack is going to use to ruin his reputation for "change."

Oh yeah,...You can thank the illegals for a big portion of the mess in SoCal hospitals. That would be a democrat problem.. not republican.

Just as good as Gavin "like it or not" Newsome, Antonio "travellin' man" Villar or Gray Davis.

yes, moderates are out of touch with california, which is why most things are 50/50 and democrat voting blacks and mexicans voted for a conservative ballot measure in 8. great thinking there buddy.

26 of the 58 counties are republican, where are you getting your info that only Orange and Del Norte County are republican? We have the 2nd highest taxes in the union, rank 48 in education; yet we spend the most money on it, have the 3rd highest unemployment in the nation; businesses are moving out of California so fast it will make your head spin and you can thank liberal democrats for all of it, this state have been run by the far left for 20 years, even when Pete Wilson was governor, the liberal legislature had him by the balls and now we have a governor that calls himself a republican, but has just proposed the raise the sales tax close to 10% and in some municipalities it will be as high as 11.25%. Yeah your right I'm real embarrased that Orange county isn't full of liberal democratic ideology so that it can join the rest of the Left Coast. Give me a break. If you wan't to see what democrats do the economy just look at Michigan, and California is headed down the same road.
