We left Irvine last year for TX and remember sitting on Alton Parkway at night watching the flames burning over the hills. It is so scary when fire burns out of control. The high winds can drive the fires faster than people can get out of their houses. Our prayers are with our friends all over the area.

Default Thinking of my friend Alex and wishing him and his neighbors the best

I am thinking of my friend Alex and wishing him the best, since he lost his house on Dorinda Drive in YL yesterday. Wonderful man, he had many memories and momentos in his house. He was packing his one of his cars in the garage with his prized pictures and memories, when the fire storm came and he had to abandon that car and leave with the car in his driveway and only with the shirt on his back. He is going back today to see what is left of what was his life for 20 years and the only house he has ever owned. I wish I lived in the area to help him ( I am in suburban Chicago ) but my thoughts and prayers are for a speedy reclamation of his life and the lives of his YL neighbors. Why do bad things happen to good people? A question for the ages.

Not great but not a problem unless you have a serious respiratory condition.

Yep, we have four seasons: dry, fire, wet, and slide, with dry consuming over half the year.
