They drive fast, cut lanes, etc.
In the Inland Empire, I've encountered jerks driving these huge 4x4 pick up trucks who tailgate you thinking they are tough and own the road.
Then in LA. it is a mix of both the Inland Empire and rich OC type, but on top of that you have those speed racer types who drive these lower modified cars.
The point is: there are jerk drivers all over Southern California.

ya, that's basically it in a nutshell. OC has way too many Suburbans to supplant giant pickups, but there are still a lot of those trucks just like the IE.
as far as luxury cars wannabe "drivers" cutting lanes, I was driving surface streets to work this week and saw a guy in a brand-new white benz C430 with the drivers side impressively dented in smack dab in the middle right where both doors meet (right below the windows / pillar). the guy was still cutting everyone off, including those with bigger cars that could do damage, me included, in heavy, heavy traffic without signalling.
some people just won't learn. and the more gas prices drop, the worse it clearly gets. bring back $2.89 gas!! I'll pay the extra $15 a week!

1) Constantly tailgating. If I slam on my brakes, how the hell do they think they are going to stop in time?
2) Not using indicator. If you don't tell me your getting over, how the hell am I suppose to slow down and let you in?
3) Always going 5-10 miles above the speed limit. If the speed limit is 40, just do 40. You don't need to do 45 or 50, okay? Same story for the freeway, the speed limit is 65, don't do 70-80+ MPH. If traffic is heavy, reduce speed.
4) Always in a rush. If you need to be on time, please leave early. For christ sakes, I am tired of walking some place and the guy making a right turn cuts me off as I get the white ,"walk" symbol. I've seen numerous times where another car has almost hit a pedestrian (they don't look) by trying to cut the red light before it turns green. Let me tell you, it definitely sends chills down your spine watching a kid cross the street and the other cars not wanting to wait.
I've always wondered why some streetlights have crossing guards even thought there is a signal. Now I know why. PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO WAIT! I am sure some kid had to die before they actually put those crossing guards there too.
Anyone had any similar pet peeves? or experiences?

Its just you. You are being too sensitive. I have seen very bad drivers and I have made mistakes as well. The "nice" drivers are the ones who won't go honking like crazy or staring you down for making a mistake. We all do them.

After visiting family in NYC and New Jersey, I'd have to say that by comparison, California drivers are MUCH more courteous than on the East Coast. Also, surprisingly enough, I found the drivers in the Omaha area to be rather aggressive, going 80 mph in a 60 mph zone. Hopefully they don't drive so fast in the middle of winter when the roads can get icy.

That's true!!! I remember two things about driving in Manhattan: 1- painted street lanes are only a "suggestion" (cars flow like a river, wherever there's space is where you go; 2- They don't pull over for sirens (an ambulance and fire engine was honking and blaring sirens and nobody would pull over!).

it will never change believe me
yes you must be mario andretti here. I personally stay off the freeways because I value my life. everyone I mean everyone and they are lying if they say they dont drive a minimum of 75 usually 80 and then slam on their brakes. always stay way behind people trust me. next time you are out watch the drivers and you will be shocked at how many are texting as theydrive.
