Default studio/1 bedroom apartments in North OC (Brea,Fullerton,La Habra,Anaheim)

Hello.

I am currently living with my folks in La Mirada and will be moving out to Brea, Fullerton, or La Habra (also considering the north part of Anaheim). I work out in Rancho Cucamonga, but I want to be close to my family and friends who are all in the OC area. As long as I am close to the 57 freeway, I will be ok.

I am looking for a studio or 1 bedroom place that is around $1000. I’m looking for a nice quiet neighborhood. I’ve been reading reviews on apartmentrating.com and found a few that had some good ratings, but I noticed when I did a Google search, most of the apartments did not have any reviews, or information on floor plans and price.

The ones that I went to look at so far before reading any reviews:
Birchwood Village – the apartment seemed nice, but reviews weren’t so favorable. The complex was also extremely large – not sure if that’s a good thing or bad thing yet.
Sand Castle – love the neighborhood and size of the complex, however, the studio layout was horrible. The closet for your clothes is in the kitchen!
La Villita – decent place, but no downstairs units available. I’m pretty sure I can find a better place than this.

Any suggestions?

dunno, but i would say you'd probably have a good chance of finding a suitable place near fullerton college and csuf

Tribeca Apartments in fullerton. I lived there for a number of years. It's close to CSUF and the freeway and is relatively quiet. Just don't let them put you into a unit that faces Yorba Linda Blvd. Everything else is relatively quiet. The walls always seemed kind of thin, so try to get a place on the top floor on the end. Then you only have to worry about sound coming from 1 neighboring unit.

Thanks for the suggestion MisterDuke.

I read the reviews on Tribeca and some of them were very good, but the overall score was poor. I know I shouldn't go solely on the reviews, so I will have to check it out for myself.

Another question I had was - since the apartments are close to CSUF, I'm guessing that means a lot of college students live there. Does that mean a lot of noise from parties, gatherings, etc.? I'm actually an alumni of CSUF (2004), and although I like to go out once in awhile, my partying days are over and I need a peaceful neighborhood (at least on the weekdays).

There's a very good chance it does. I don't live in Fullerton but I'm probably a couple of miles from OCC and I have students below me, beside me, and below that one. Lets just say hardly a day goes by that I don't want to firebomb one of them for the noise. College students have ZERO consideration for anyone around them who might prefer to sleep at 1:00am rather than listen to the THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, of their music, TV, or game console.

I lived there a number of years and don't recall there ever being an out of control party or anything like that. You'd think there would have been a lot more of that given the proximity to CSUF, but I never saw it. I don't think there were too many college students there. I never saw too many by the pool or in the fitness center. The property managers were very hands-on, and there was a guard that would patrol the complex at night. You could call the guard on his cell after 11 if somebody was playing music too loud.
