List of Sports Teams in Order of Popularity in Orange County?
Hey guys! Out of all of the SoCal professional sports teams, which are the most popular in Orange County? Which one garners the most support from OC, and when they get deep in the playoffs, creates the most excitement and passion?
Here's a partial list of the Southland's sports teams:
-Anaheim Ducks
-Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
-Los Angeles Lakers
-Los Angeles Clippers
-Los Angeles Dodgers
-Los Angeles Kings
-San Diego Chargers
-UCLA Bruins
-USC Trojans
And I guess we can throw in the Oakland Raiders and St. Louis Rams, since (at least with the Raiders) they have a sizeable fanbase in SoCal.
Aside from this list, there's something I've always been curious about. Do people in Orange County get passionate about the Lakers? When they go deep in the playoffs (like last year), do you see a lot of jerseys and car flags?

Edison Chargers football!
lots of SC grads, and "glom on to the winning team even though I have no connection with them" SC fans in Orange County.
other than that, Ducks and Angels.
I sincerely doubt any significant amount of people in Orange County care about the Chargers, Clippers or Kings. Lakers, maybe.
Rams? F* the Rams. They're like an ex girlfriend who sh*t on you. you still have fond memories but, myeh. Don't miss them.

Although I don't live in Orange County, I live in Tempe, about a mile from the Angels' spring training headquarters at Tempe Diablo Stadium. I would expect the Angels would undoubtedly be Orange County's favorite team. |

My favorites are Angels and Ducks and I could care less about any other team. But for all of OC the order of popularity would probably go:
1. Angels
2. Trojans Football
3. Lakers
4. Ducks
5. Dodgers

Oh, and the Ducks and Angels sell out most their home games and have very high season ticket numbers, so they're at the top of any list. |
