Charles, great logo and photo! I know they used Wrigley Field in a lot of movies, including 'Pride of the Yankees.' Man, how many years has LA been subbing for NYC..?!?

Thanks again. Cool.

Though I have always understood the marketing concept behind the Angel's Name Change back in 2005, and The "Greater Los Angeles" Concept, I still prefer Anaheim Angels. What I dislike is the ongoing disloyalty and apathy of the Angel's LP to the fans and community of Orange County. Despite the 100 wins in 2008, The Angels were voted "The Most Unpopular MLB Team" in America that same year. Put the pieces together. The fans and the communities ALWAYS come first, even before marketing.

IIRC, the "Anaheim Angels" name was only used during the time in which Disney owned the team (1996ish to 2004). I like that they dumped that awful periwinkle blue uniforms before the 2002 season for the classic look, now if they could only revert the name back to "California Angels," I'd be happy.

charles, someone could pay me $10,000 not tax free and I would change my name; maybe not my last but certainly my first.

Arte Moreno could have learned something had he been in the house in 2002. Ten minutes after the Angels won their first ever World Series... the first championship of any kind in Orange County history.... and Michael Eisner was BOOED.

People make a big deal about how Philadelphia Eagles fans once booed a guy in a Santa Claus costume. Big deal. That guy in the costume never did anything for Philly. OC booed the guy responsible for bringing the World Series to Anaheim while confetti was still falling. Don't let anyone tell you that Orange County has soft fans.

Moreno might think that he's being a very shrewd marketer, but most fans take note of the kind of garbage he's pulled. He could have been the kind of owner that fans love. Instead, he's just another jerk in a suit.

As awful as the Angels were save for four or five seasons, there's a lot of sentimentality/nostalgia for Gene Autrey. I don't think anyone could live up to the Singing Cowboy's legacy, but lets not forget they went from being owned by the Autrey family to a multibillion dollar corporation run by Michael Eisner (who's known far and wide for being a jacka$$)

Doesn't help that Moreno and Autrey's widow dislike each other.

They are the Anaheim Angels and it is absurd to incorporate the usage of Los Angeles in way way, shape or form.
