Been to Irvine hundreds of times and never been stopped by the police. You think it could be the fact that I don't break the law?

Well they should have seen it unless they cant see that far in front of them.
Right now the big thing for Irvine Police is at the local high schools writing tickets for jaywalking..........they have hit the big times

I'm 100% sure, as I had a green light, and the person taking the right hand turn in front of me MUST have had a red and didn't even stop before making the turn (which is the law). The cop had to see as this forced me to jam on the breaks and since the cop was right behind me she had to do the same. As I said I looked up the fine for that offense and it was 1/4 what mine was. Even though what I did posed much less of a safety risk for drivers around me. </rant>

Jaywalking is dangerous. I bet the parents would be grateful to know that the Police department is doing their job of enforcing the law and if this in turn prevents one child from being injured by jaywalking, then great.
Honestly.... Do you think the officers are sitting around waiting to catch a jaywalker and ignoring other crimes? You do know they carry radios and can get a call for assistance or crime in progress anywhere in the city? Irvine is an extremely low crime rate, let's not complain about such trivial stuff.

Unless the officer told you they saw, than you can't be 100% sure.

You'll get a ticket in the mail and if you don't fix the windows your car will be impounded.

You must have too much time on your hands if you spend the whole day following the officers around. I mean you have to be in order to know they sit around all day.
Now learn from the experience, pay the fine and get back to class.

I dont have to follow the officers around. I spend a lot of time on the Yale Loop in the afternoon picking my kids up from school at different times.
The officers are hidden all over the place waiting for you to make any type of violation before school and afterschool. It sounds like you know the law so well maybe you should help them.

You're a parent and you laugh jaywalking? Just saw on the news a child in long beach was jaywalking on the way to school was hit by a car and I injured. As a parent you should be thankful the officers are doing their job helping to reduce accidents around schools.
Now if you don't care if kids jaywalk or become upset people are inconvienced by having to go slower and obey traffic laws especially around schools, then that says something about your parenting skills

I would really feel sorry for your kids if you are a parent. Probably keep your kids on a leash, plastic on your furniture so they dont get it dirty and of course they could never swim in the ocean might get bit by sharks.
And of course if your children jaywalk then you have lousy parenting skills..........great logic.....go vote for Palin
