What hotel/motel do you recommend that is a short walking distance to Huntington Beach? My family and I are visiting for the weekend in August and some of the decent hotels are about a 10 mile walk to the beach. Are there any decent ones on PCH about $100 per night or less?

the hyatt and the hilton are right on the beach but i dont know the price, but i would expect they would be more expensive then 100 dollars.

They is also a Quality Inn in Huntingotn Beach on PCH...right on the beach...it said its average price is 149 dollars....

hope this helps.

You want to walk 10 miles to the beach in August? You'll need a car for sure unless you're going to pay through the nose at one of the hotels right on PCH and never leave that area.

When I travel, I like to use Hotwire.com for hotels. I just checked and they have a zone that covers the coastal strip of Huntington and Newport and inland a couple of miles. I think I saw a 3 star for just over $100 in that zone. I've gotten some great deals that way.

I stay at the Hilton on PCH when in town for work and it's definitely a nice hotel. I thin our corporate rate is around $200 per night, but that may be much less than the regular rate, especially in summer.

The Sun and Sand would be your best bet, no frills hotel right on the beach near main street. You could walk to all the tourist attrictions in Huntington without a problem. The Pacific View Inn and Suites would be ok as well, but it's far from downtown HB, closer to Sunset Beach/Seal Beach areas.

This might help... I searched in Google Maps for motels in the area closest to the Huntington Beach Pier:
