Orangewood Children's Home suspended an employee for six weeks without pay because four teenagers from the home overheard Christian music at the Huntington Beach Pier. The teens did not complain nor did they ask to leave at anytime. The employee has worked at Orangewood for 20 years.

This is another example of stupidity in the state of California and the outright stupidity of political correctness. These kids OVERHEARD Christian music and the employee gets suspended. Shame on you Orangewood Children's Home

If she had taken them to a Muslim or Buddhist festival it would have been a "cultural learning experience" but overhearing Christian music is the end of the world.

Something tells me there's more to this than what the story tells.

There's something missing from this story. The kids are at the Anaheim 5k and they complain the music is too loud, so their answer is to head to Huntington Beach so they can hear bigger bands play on a louder system?

I'm guessing the leader of this activity had compiled a few strikes, and got busted for taking the kids somewhere without permission. Now she's trying to cover by making it seem like she is some kind of religious martyr.

And in good old OC, that tactic always seems to work.

According to the article, another band that was playing was Incubus. They had no problem with Incubus but don't you dare expose the children to Christian music.

.... ACCORDING to the woman who claims she is being persecuted. It does seem extremely ridiculous, which is why I doubt her version. I'd like to hear what Orangewood says. People with 20 years of service don't get suspended for 6 weeks for something like that, unless there is more to the story. And obviously you're not going to hear that from the woman who is trying to make herself look like the victim of religious persecution.

Save it for the people in this world who are REALLY persecuted.

I agree with what they did.

The bible thumping is going too far. I am tired of it personally.

What we need is something similar to sexual harassment laws. We can call them religious harassment laws. People should keep their religious beliefs to themselves just like they should do with their sexual lives.

This is America Mister, and if we had kept our religious beliefs to ourselves, you'd have no freedom of speech. Our founders were a religious people. I can't channel surf to see what's on without having to watch flashes of naked very young women being sexually exploited, yet, I'll bet you don't think there should be a law governing that on the airwaves. Well, sound travels, just like tv transmissions on the airwaves and a christian band has a much right to play in an open air venue as anyone else. Just like I have to choose to not let what I see on TV affect me adversely, you can choose not to let what you hear from a christian affect you. Obviously, you've been quite successful so far. I'll bet you consider yourself quite "tolerant." except for christianity, why the exception?
