Default Good Beach To Visit Saturday

I'm flying in from Milwaukee tomorrow to test with Orange County Fire at UC-Irvine Campus. I'll be with two girls that are coming with for a vacation in LA and they wanted to stop at a beach in OC. What would be a good recommendation? Probably don't want anything too crowded. They are 20-year-old girls so of course they want to visit Laguna Beach. haha How would it be there? I've only been to Newport Beach before. Thanks.

Laguna is a good choice. Balboa beach (part of Mewport) is nice. Cornoa Del Mar is a nice beach, but it is more families. THE surfer duuudes tend to hang out at Hungtington, or down at trestles.

It all depends on what you want. There are tide pools with sea life trapped in them along the beach just north of Laguna. There is a dog beach where dogs can run free in huntington. Some beaches are empty, some crowded, some family oriented, some are heavily frequented by skaters (newport boardwalk), surfers, marines, tourists, etc. Some beaches are pretty, others are just big. Some places have clean water others are better for just hanging out. Some have shpopping and resturaunts along the beach, others require a fifteen minute walk to get to a parking lot and have nothign nearby. What are you looking for?

The girls will like muscle beach up near Santa Monica/Venice near LA. Venice beach is filled with oddball types who are entertaining to look at and talk to. Laguna Beach, and especially South Laguna (near Aliso Pier) is very heavily gay, so that the girls can look around, but may not always get the response that they are looking for from "hot" guys that they encounter.
