We are considering a move someplace between Dana Point and San Clemente. 50 yr old couple like to walk to restaurants and love to sail, what areas should we investigate.

Renting or buying?
Budget or price range?
Where is your job(s)?

Good choice for you. Anything above Dana Point gets more expensive quick. You should have no problems finding a decent home for your budget in the area. Walking to shops may be a bit more restricted in Dana Point and is mainly on the coastal side, which is also the most expensive part of town. Sailing no problem either. There are really not many shops or restaurants per say to visit. In that respects San Clemente may have more to offer. I think its cheaper than Dana Point too, if I'm not mistaken.

Maybe it would be good to rent a place for a few months, to get the feel of the areas you may be interested in.
