Default Where do they teach sports to kids in Aliso Viejo?

Hi everyone! We just moved to Aliso Viejo and we have a 6 y.o boy. I know there are many places where kids with experience play different kinds of sports in this area. I need to find a place where they teach the basics of different sports for beginers. I know it's probably silly, but I really don't know where to get help. Our dady doesn't play anything, not interested in sports at all. However, I want my son to be physically active as he is hyperactive and it would be good for him. Any help is greatly appreciated.Thank you.

Check out the program at the Laguna Niguel YMCA facility. In the summer they will have the Super Sport Clinics for youth and do a different sport each week in the summer and teach the basics of the games.

Here is the schedule:
Sessions

Dates Activity Age Range
June 29 - July 2 Volleyball 5-10 yrs
July 6 - July 9 Soccer 5-10 yrs
July 13 - July 16 Flag Football 5-10 yrs
July 20 - July 23 Basketball 5-10 yrs
July 27- July 30 Flag Football 11-13 yrs
August 3 - August 6 Basketball 11-13 yrs
August 10 - August 13 Volleyball 11-13 yrs

YMCA of Orange County - Camp - Specialty Day Camp - Summer Camp - Camper Activities

You could also enroll him in a youth sports league such as AYSO for soccer or something which will teach the sport and allow some friendly competition with other kids in the area. It will teach him team work and allow him to meet other kids his age in your area.
Here is the flier and registration information for the Aliso Viejo AYSO: http://www.cityofalisoviejo.com/file...x17_poster.pdf

He could sign up for baseball as well through the Aliso Viejo Little League. http://www.avll.org/

YMCA and the city should have their own parks and rec dept that does kids sports/activities.

Also, they have flag football at that age. Saddleback Valley Pop Warner is the local team and a very good organization. Signups are right now and the season is in Aug-Oct/Nov. 6 y/o is the oldest for the flag football, then it migrates into tackle. Football is a great way to help your young boy grow up. Tradition in my family

Off pacific park is an ice skating rink (figure/hockey) and a karate studio... Lots of little league, etc. YMCA pools.

I'd be more worried about daddy and (like father like son??) later on, the child.

Is daddy an engineer by any chance?
