Default Commuting from Huntington Beach to Venice?

I'm wondering if anyone commutes from Huntington (or surrounding anywhere nearby in OC) into Venice. I am not from here and am exploring a job opp. Note: I would be able to work an earlier or a later shift so I could miss general rush hour. Mapquest is telling me distance....but I really need a better, real estimate of what that would look like on a day to day basis. I know, it's far. Thanks in advance.

Will depend on how offset your commute is. If you can leave at 5AM then the morning drive probably won't be that bad. But even if you can leave at 2PM, there is traffic southbound on the 405, especially near LAX, La Cieniga, and different stretches between the 10 and the 110.

Two things you need to do, check google maps traffic, "traffic at time and day" for the times you expect to commute and also check Sigalert.com - Personalized Traffic Reports during the times you expect to commute.

The 405 is rush hour pretty much 24/7 from 7AM to 7PM so how "off" are you hours.

I would rather live closer if you can: Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, El Segundo, Santa Monica, etc... are all nice and close to Venice.
