I would just buy a DVD recorder....they are like may $60 bucks??? You will probably spend nearly that on two or three dubbings.
Besides, you'll then own a DVD player/recorder too. And, if you have a camcorder you can copy to a DVD too using IEEE-1394 firewire or something else.
Make sure it accepts the output from the VCR, like RCA jacks or whatever.
