405 traffic from OC to South Bay
How is the M-F commute on the 405 from OC to Hermosa Beach? Live off the 91 in Yorba Linda and it's killing me. Looking to move to a different area, but afraid the 405 is not any better...

The 405 isn't really going to be any better, maybe a little better, but just a little. Why don't you go for living in the South Bay itself?

Thought about it, but my boyfriend works in Corona and we're looking to move somewhere in the middle where the commute to work is tolerable for both of us. Any suggestions on "nice" cities in between AH and Hermosa off the 91 that would at least cut the drive time? I feel like most places in between aren't anywhere we would like to live.

Maybe consider the East Long Beach area. Its a nice beach area that is safe, has some character, and has nice shopping. It would not be that horrible to Hermosa Beach and it is 43 miles to Corona (what you currently do to Hermosa from Yorba Linda). I'm not sure what the 22 East is like in the morning though. Through the horrendous 91 corridor, he will be on a reverse commute from traffic and should be going pretty fast. The route would be 22 east (unsure what this is like), 55 north (good), 91 east (good). Reverse this for the way back. I would estimate 50 minutes to Corona.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah drive in the morning isn't too bad, I'm on the road early, it's just heading home at 5pm that's horrible. He is against traffic which is good ~ he's not too worried, more about me. We might look into Long Beach for sure. Not sure about the 22 at all either. Thanks again!

Ask NaplesRes about East Long Beach. He or she is the expert on that area and might know about the 22 as well.

If possible I would consider relocating closer to your place of employment, especially if you are renting.
Your life will take a dramatic increase in quality. I live about 4 miles away from where I work and let me tell you, I LOVE IT.
