Default OC: Most fiscally conservative county in State based on election

As you know, California rejected every single proposition except for 1F. In Orange County, all the propositions (except for 1F) were slaughtered. In every single proposition, OC rejected the propositions at a higher rate than any other county in the state. I think this proves the strong fiscal conservative base OC is notorious for is still in tact.

Prop 1A: 76.3% No (#1) as of 11:50
Prop 1B: 73.5% No (#1)
Prop 1C: 73.8% No (#1)
Prop 1D: 74.0% No (#1)
Prop 1E: 74.6% No (#1)
Prop 1F: 36.9% No (#1)

I think people in OC are just NO people, they don't necessarily need to know what they are saying NO to...it is their initial response! Do you think they actually gave their precious time to read the ballot measures? LOL ;-) And by OC people, I don't mean all...just most, as evidenced by the results!

It's too bad that OC people didn't exercise their "No" tendencies by voting No on 8 - if 8 had lost in OC it would've lost statewide.

(And yes I know some OC cities voted No on 8, like Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, and Seal Beach.)

Too many mormons were ordered to vote YES on prop 8, it really did rock the vote...I know because I was in the Church at that time and boycotted it after witnessing their political practices firsthand! They were ordered to pay money, ordered to put signs in their yards, ordered to make sure each person voted for it. And yes, there are a TON of mormons in the OC...arguably moreso than any others...except how did Saddleback church tell people to vote? I'm guessing that and Mariners also had far-reaching effects.

And for the record, I voted NO on prop 8...and I also voted for gay marriage in the election back in 2000 as well...OC is just not tolerant enough, self-destructive to it's own people, and I think it will ultimately need to be put back in it's place in reality...or fall off into the ocean so other people have equal rights. :-)

If that isn't one of the most biased statements I have ever read. I guess you think the "other side" pays more attention to what they are reading.. I realize the turnout for the election was somewhere around 10%, wonder what percentage of OC voters turned out??

So you boycotted your church cause you didn't like the message, I happen to agree, you did the right thing, but guess what? It happens on both sides, we discontinued our membership in our church because our minister as much as told us to support Obama..

For all of Orange County's posturing as a fiscally conservative conclave, it saw the biggest municipal bankruptcy in American history at the time (it is now second behind a county in Alabama). The problems was with derivatives and Merrill Lynch was involved in it. So this financial crisis we have now is a bit of deja vu for OC residents.
