Default Musical Theater Village in Irvine -- any good?
Hey all.. I did some digging around on the interweb and found really no reviews of productions put on by the Musical Theater Village in Irvine. They are putting on a production of Footloose the end of the month. My sister's in town, and she loooves that movie, so I want to surprise her. But if it's really cheesy / amateur, no thanks. Any idea??

Ummm.... it is basically a bunch of kids that have parents who dream of them being a performer when they grow up (and are paying $$$ for them to perform). Most of the cast is under 16 and the theater is small. Basically think of it as an expensive high school musical (although, actually worse acting). My niece was at musical theather village and we went to see her show a few years ago. It was very amateur. I'm glad she grew up and gave up on that "dream."

Dirty Dancing is showing at the Pantages in Hollywood. You could make it a day trip and go there. Do lunch or dinner and a show.
