Hmmmm. I was at the movies with my husband. Haven't heard anything since getting home. What side of MV? I'm up by the lake and went to the Regal in Foothill so I haven't been in the south side of the city tonight.

Okay...we decided to go find out what was going on....it was in Pacific Hills....it was a barricade situation but apparently no one was hurt or anything like that...we watched it for about an hour...maybe something will be on the news....
NOTE for possible MV future residents: this is EXTREMELY rare, MV is a very safe community and these occurrences are VERY far and between.

Goes to show. People in LA would not have even noticed the helicopter. It is such a rare thing in south OC that you had to run and check it out.

The Sheriff's dept has a fantastic website at www.ocsd.org - you choose Sheriff's blotter and your city and you can see all the activity going on. They update it with the reports and arrest info. You can also check many other items like who is in jail, arrest warrants, etc.

We were never able to find a good source for helicopter activity though. We lived in MV & south OC for 11 years and my husband is a helicopter nut, so we noticed them quite frequently.

That's what I'm saying too.In SD the "Johny PoPO chopper(what we call it down here) is in the air as much as it is in Los Angeles. We pay it no mind. But I guess that will always be a major thing in (South)Orange County anytime it happens.LOL
