Thanks for the info and warnings, but the Rams moved to St. Louis, not Kansas City (the Chiefs).

Save the attitude. South OC and Compton represent extreme ends of the crime spectrum; while nothing in the county is Compton, the only truly "safe" areas are in the very southern tip. You're painting a picture of OC as almost crime-free which is assuredly not the case.
Living in northern OC isn't "drama", it's merely a pain in the ass. Again, Raelyn paints a fairly accurate picture of the area.

Raelyn28 brings up some valid points in her original post. I'm not really fond of blondes nor do I care about pro football. However, her post about the quality of life (or lack thereof) in present day SoCal does have its merits. The southland has become a very different place over the years and newcomers should be cautious about setting down roots without knowing what they are getting into and what the future holds.
I left California two years ago, and my life, stress level, financial situation, and relationship have improved as a result. That's just me, I can't speak for anyone else. I went to high school in LA in the 90s, and remained in California many years thereafter. I've seen the changes happen right before my eyes. I have recently gotten reacquainted with old friends from high school on MySpace. Almost none of them are in California anymore.
Say what you will about Raelyn28, but alot of longtime California residents are quietly bailing out. Not just whites either. I'm talking about blacks, hispanics, asians, whatever... I have never seen an exodus of this kind.

This is true. The California lovers like to pretend that City Data is just full of malcontents that don't represent the state's mood as a whole. But for every unhappy Californian here researching other states, there's probably thousands who've never heard of this site and just quietly move away.

How long did you live in OC anyway?? A couple of months, a few years?? Maybe you were one of the lucky ones who never experienced anything bad. I just don't get it.
You are attacking my character when you make fun of my race, wording or call me a liar. And you need to look up the definition of trolling. You are the one who is making inflammatory accusations about me. So please go look at the statistics and read some of the other posts. It isn't just me saying these things. Are we all wrong or what??

I grew up in OC, lived there for over 20 years. Again, quit with the racial straw man, it's as phony as your anecdotes.
I don't need to look up statistics, unlike you, I lived in OC.

Sorry, you don't have any credibility on that. Your claims don't hold any water. Your time in OC is just as fictional as alien life. Nobody wants to hear your whining, etc. etc. etc.

I'm not saying that there is NEVER any crime in Yorba Linda. There is crime EVERYWHERE. With that said, how can the 13th safest city in the state be also home to 35th murderous cities in America? Again, how can a city that has gone 3 or more years without a murder be a "murder" capital.
I think again, some of the points you bring up are worth merit. Esp. not having a major league football team (that really sucks, lol). But, let's not stir drama by saying ALL of SoCal is this gang haven.
Most people left SoCal because of the high cost of living, not the crime. Why? Because most people did not live in high crime areas.
Look, your relative seems like a great person. With that said, relying on anecdotes is a bad idea. Just because she is afraid of leaving the garage door doesn't mean that if, by chance, she did something bad would happen.
Again, the personal bashing is harsh. But, let's be real. Yorba Linda, Irvine, Anaheim Hills...these are REALLY low crime communities.

You're defending someone who's been exposed as an outright fraud, you do realize this, right?

No, I'm defending someone who, for reasons I can only guess at, is being treated badly for stating her opinion of a place, which is what this forum is all about.
I have no reason to believe the OP is any more of a fraud than, say, someone trying to lecture about current conditions in Orange County, California from some island 2,500 miles away.
