Grew up in Garbage Grove during the 50s and 60s within view of the fireworks at Disneyland, lived in Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley and Seal Beach after graduating from high school in 1970, living in south Orange County since then except for a 2 year stay in Denver CO (great area!!!!!!).
I've seen a few changes over the years.

Haha, yep Charles, my husband was also posting every once and a while, but that was earlier on. He got over it, but I still like to post.

Moved to Mission Viejo in February of 2007 from Anchorage, Alaska where I was born and raised ( did live in Seattle for a few years from about 5-7). Then moved to San Clemente for a year. Then to Trabuco Canyon for about 8 months, now back to Mission Viejo. Am trying to enjoy all the area has to offer while we're here, but after I finish college it will be time for the next chapter. Back to AK would be nice, but hubby is done with cold weather, so we are more than likely headed to Texas. In the interim, trying to enjoy the beach and any other activity I can think of to get my $$'s worth that it costs to live here. I desperately miss rain I will say. And an occasional thunder/lightning storm would be awesome. A few less million people would be nice too. Oh well.

Lets just hope so!
God knows there are enough people with split personalities in CA, not to mention those who flew over cuckoo's nest a long time ago!
Between 92 and 07 here are the cities I lived in (or stayed a long time):
Frisco Area: Danville and Pacheco.
LA Area: Bellflower, Downey and Long Beach.
OC: Irvine, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Aliso Viejo, Mision Viejo and Lake Forest.

Lived on Lido Island, Newport Beach, off-and-on from 1951 to 1974. My father was career military, as was I, which is why there were breaks in our residency. I left the military in 1978 and found the county priced way beyond my means so I bought a house inland.
I still miss what was and will never be again but if I could afford it I'd love to return. I recently retired and we're moving out of state shortly to maximize our retirement incomes.
Newport Beach was magical back in the days when Orange County was mostly orange groves and you smelled the blossoms and the sea, not the smog. Seeing Catalina was almost a daily occurrence from the beach areas as was Saddle Back.

Buena Park until I graduated Hi school, them moved to Fullerton for the next 20 or so years, then Yorba Linda for 20. There were a few short apartment stops when young, which included Anaheim, Brea, and a few places I don't remember
We love everything about OC, so when we retired, we found a place to downsize and enjoy a slower pace, but still be close enough to return to OC in just over an hour. We are frequent visitors...

I think this thread will help possible relocators to find people to private message to ask about certain areas...I didn't even think of that when I had originally posted this thread! LOL :-) Perhaps we should list schools we have attended to, in case any parents have questions about them!!!
Here is my personal history on where I've lived in southern CA:
*Lake Forest (on Mission Viejo border, schooled in MV) 1987-2001
*San Marcos/San Diego 2001-2003
*Irvine (on the Newport Beach border - University/Bison area) 2004-2008
*Laguna Niguel (at the border of Laguna Hills/Aliso Viejo) 2008 - present
I'm 28 years old and a married mother of two...we frequent parks & stores in all the surrounding cities and are very active! We do not watch TV either so it allows for exploring the people and places around us. I also have a ton of friends all around so we've been to many, many neighborhoods in surrounding cities and beyond...in general, if you are looking to move anywhere between Irvine to San Clemente (even Camp Pendleton & north county SD)...I have a lot of knowledge in those areas!
