It is an okay area in the sense of RE prices are low there for Orange County.

I was just running some basic searches on realtor.com for santa ana real estate. The cheapest condo was 165k - 1bed/1bath 620sq/ft. 2bed/1bath -255k. Rents are all in that same range 1bed/1bath 800-1k/month. (look anywhere else in oc and 1bed/1bath start at 280k and lowest rent you find is 1200 for 1bed/1bath)

Of course it is a very bad neighborhood. Personally when I go there it feels like I am in Mexico. Depending on if you know spanish or are hispanic this might be a plus. Crime is high, gangs are high, teen birthrate is skyrocketting, trash all over the place. All those things you find in Mexico are in Sanata Ana.

Only live there to save money, only.

Only 1 in 4? Sounds like a lowball figure to me.

They probably count the anchor babies as legals. Yeah, I know they're technically legal, but they wouldn't be here but for their illegal parents. Add the anchor babies to the actual illegals, and that's probably 80% of Santa Ana.

I think what they ment to say was 1 in 4 is an ACTUAL American Citizen

If these anchor kids or whatever realllly wanted to show thier appreciation for all the drama and hardships thier parents went through to ILLIEGALY break our Countries laws and cross our borders (border being the key word here) then they should stay in school and get the fine education thier parents risked life and limb for and make something of themselves.

1 in 4 was an underestimate and as far as Santa Ana's Council will go to admit.

Not intending to spur immigration controversary, this video vouches fairly good for the type of area as a whole.. (Note:The painted-over graffiti on the wall, kids screaming ME HI CO, the low quality of some of the cars that drive-by, and that is the 'downtown of OC')

Because you can walk the streets at night in Irvine without getting stabbed.

Santa Ana is a beautiful and safe city, being the jewel of Orange County. You will love it there. Just watch out for the drive-by shootings and uninsured drivers. If you look at our newsaper, www.ocregister.com, there are shootings in Santa Ana every week.

It was a figure of speech that Santa Ana is capable of Improving and becoming someplace Safer and Better....Remember afterall it is in Orange County, and Orange County shouldn't have any Towns or Cities with High Crime,Graffitti,Gangs, etc.
