Please, everyone who left tell us where you went, at least the name of the state.

Where are the jobs in these nicer places? That's the real question for those of us who need to work for a living. I don't have a PhD or so the chances of my resume making it to the top of a hiring manager's desk are quite low, particularly in the many states or towns where resenting Californians is one of the local pastimes.

im a college student here in the OC and being here since i have been born(20 years already), i have seen Orange county change from being a great place to live to a congested, crowded, materialistic, expensive location where the cost of living is so high.

It sucks cause i work at retail and i only make 8 dollar a hour which can't afford me to rent a apartment or to get a car. A portion mostly goes to bills and helping my parents out. The good thing is that there is a lot to do such going to the beach, movies, going to a theme park, mountians, close by to Los Angeles(Awesome City), 2 hours away to San Diego and many other activities but the sucky part is to have money in your pocket to enjoy these activities which i dont have sometimes.

After some serious thinking, im thinking of relocating to Phoenix, Arizona (I know it is not the best place to go live but i like the slow paced life , the desert scenary and the cost of living). But if it doesn't work, i might also go to Raleigh,North Carolina but im also considering other areas. Right now at the moment im saving my money up to move out of southern california. I guess this place isn't for me but im up to live somewhere else beside here.

The OC is more of a location that you either love it or hate it. I don't hate it but i just won't want to live here for the rest of my life. However it is a great place to visit.

You've probably changed a lot more in 10 years than Orange County has.

OC native and we just moved to Madison, WI...it's like Austin, TX but less heat :-) LOVING IT!!!! Definitely much better looking neighborhoods, REAL people who aren't up to proving themselves, much more stable economy, and despite popular belief, the cost of living is more expensive here...the only thing I miss about OC is the low prices I could find on just about everything. But I'll take it anyday over bitchy, self-centered people...it's so nice to see there is life after OC :-) Hopefully one day it will all come crashing down on them and humble them back down to humanity...then I might go back for a visit for good ol times sake!

Orange County is overrated.

It's just too overdeveloped and you can't get away from it.
