I believe the post she is referring to is the poll question you asked, where you made the statement below. I have found the people on here to be extremely helpful for the most part. Sometimes it is difficult to understand the intent of someone's post, you cannot hear their inflection etc. so you attribute some insult or sarcasm where there may be none. Good luck on your search.
"Even though I will be totally unfamiliar with my surroundings I will make money.
I consider myself to be a talented Realtor/Salesperson. My techniques in marketing have brought me to the upper echelon in New Orleans Real Estate.
I am a very quick learner and it doesn't take a professor to learn the areas . I swear people act like I'm moving to Russia. I DO speak English and last time I checked California is still the United States. California is ground zero in the mortgage meltdown and I am definitely up to the challenge! I could sell your clothes right off your back w/o you knowing and by the time you figure it out I'm speeding off in my 1967 Austin Healey with your wife 007 Style!! "
Can you see how this could be taken as someone who is just flat-out bragging?

And sorry my mistake... I guess he was talking about stealing someone's wife in his own car. LOL And by the way.. I just checked that poll question and the entire thread has been removed except for post #1. Interesting..

I am not sure if this comment is still relevant but I live in Rossmoor/Los Alamitos and rent a 53 year old home for $2100.00 a month. This is actually pretty cheap, only because we have been in the house for almost 11 years and our landlord has not raised our rent every year. Our home though is a typical rental. You will not find a "nice" rental in this area for less than $3000 a month, period. Ours has original, paper thin windows, no insulation, not much of a yard, is barely 1500 sq ft and needs work. If you want more than that, look somewhere else. We have good schools and it is a pretty safe community, although that is changing with the CA budget crisis and the recession. If you are in real estate you probably know that CA, especially places in South OC were hit hard by the mortgage crisis. If you plan on buying you may find a deal but rental prices are not much different. You will definitely feel the higher cost of living in comparison to where you are now.
Hopefully that helps. Good luck!

Temecula is nice. You can purchase a family home for so much less than OC.

we will move soon to southcalifornia form northcalifornia. So i have been in contact with real estate agents from orange county and i have been chequing craigslist for longer time.
Grandma used to say:the devil is not so black like people try to paint him!!
i can tell you with 3000 you can get a good house in yorba linda, anaheimhills,i got 15 offers from a real estate agent in that area..2900 beautiful house with huge garden and 5 bedrooms in anaheim hills...3000 beautiful house in yorba linda ,great schools,do not desperate, everywhere you can find teh right deal..just put some work and time in it...and my advice take not one agent, take three, let them work for you FOR FREE (tenant never pays!!)..we could afford much more then 3000,but i do not want, because i do not see ,why should i put more money in somebody's else pocket...also, watch craigslist and take direct contact with the owners...
if you want to buy a house,no worry...rent first and if you are there, you will find the right one..it si not everything in 800000 and millions and so on..the area is prestigious, but with patience you will find a better deal...if you like orange county, never give up your dreams, you will succed and you will find the right house!

Do you have girls who are into softball?
Irvine yes, but Fullerton (Sunny Hills , yes but no other high school), Anahiem (Oxford yes, but the rest are poor high schools, Santa Ana ( none but the charter school ). As far as living in Temecula, that is in Riverside County not Orange County. You would be driving a lot to get to Orange County from Temecula. Good luck with your house hunt. I would get advice from knowledgeable people.

The top High Schools were Fullerton Troy; Oxford Academy (Anaheim/Cypress); University in Irvine and OCHSA in Santa Ana. that may have changed according to a recent report that I saw posted here somewhere. However there are polls/reports to show anything that you want them to. It is hard to figure out what is reliable data and what is spin. These schools are certainly all good potions.
I alwyas laugh when someone says "but those are charter schools, not true public schools" So what? I do not care what their affiliation is a good school is a good school. If you want one of the top schools, those are or were all on the list. If you are looking for a top rated school you are not going to send your kid to a lower rated school because the better schools are mostly charter schools. However you have to question how much a top rated school really matters.

If you want a lower cost of living, move to Idaho or the deep south. SoCal ain't for you. Any low cost area (and that is VERY relative) in SoCal makes wearing kevlar on a daily basis de riguer, if you know what I mean.
