I thought it was odd and totally unsafe that she mentioned a location when she was scared to go there in the first place. I wouldn't ever tell anyone where I was going to be on a national forum... You know what I mean?
I don't believe one bit she was genuine. I have so many European friends who have been to the US more than once, and they barely know what a zip code is [its not called zip code anywhere in Europe] since a tourist never has to mail to any US zipcodes or really need the knowledge. Our dear sugarr knew how to distinguish regions, areas, zip codes and what not. This sugarr had astonishing 'local' knowledge and jargon for a new transplant who is not even living in this country... Besides, I doubt any European would use an ID as sugarr, as this is not a general word they use at all for names. Its an american term. Sugarr sounds more like a name an African American would use. Also, Europeans have extremely little experience of mexicans [try to find even 1 or 2 in Europe if you can!] and it would be odd that this sugarr would be worried about a group she knows nothing about and be concerned of safety etc in mexican neighbourhoods. Europeans don't associate the image of african americans, mexicans etc with "crime" as people sometimes do in some regions of the US. They have no particular opinion or bias against them since they know very little about them. Europeans are used to immigrants like Turks, Albanians, Romanians, Russians, etc and would be able to state a list of opinions on these immigrants, but not mexicans.

In other words= Fake post.

Agreed antibes. (except about the African American part, don't know what would connect the name to the race) I think "sugarr" (oh so european with the added r, don't ya think? lol) was an opportunity for more OC bashing for someone.

What part of Europe are you from, I have been around Europe and some places in London, Berlin, Paris, milan etc, are almost the same as Santa Ana besides this area has lots of latinos, who are very friendly for the most part, it's just that Anglos are not use to deal with them, or do not know much about them, trust me they are very friendly.

No offense, but if you are a WF and don't look Latin (despite what race you are- I am Latin and fluent in Spanish but don't "look" it), the women are especially unfriendly. I speak from experience. Especially if they were born here. The little group of girls that I ran into at the McDonald's with my kids (I look young but I'm in my 30s) were especially unfriendly and made me so uncomfortable I chose to leave. And I did nothing to instigate, I was standing next to their table filling up my drink. All the other females in there (older) gave me the stare down. Over all, Latinos are friendly. But the new generation that is born and raised here is not like their ancestors. I find those that have migrated recently to be much friendlier. JMO : )
