Whenever I read OCregister on-line there's always some sort of hit and run on Beach or a deadly traffic accident. A few weeks ago some kid got ran over at Beach and Talbert and a few days ago some guy on a bike got robbed. (All these stories are on the local HB section of OCregister). It seems like throughout the years a lot of people died on Beach blvd.

I think its dangerous mainly because it's so busy and there's lots of pedestrians which could lead to accidents. I also think it's a dangerous street traffic accident wise... A lot of car accidents tend to happen there...

That's like saying 25% of all house burglaries take place between the months of June, July, and August.

But of note is that 25% of the year also happens to elapse during those months.

So what?

I think you answered your own question. Beach Blvd, for the most part is straight as an arrow. It's just-as you observed-an extremely busy and wide street. So that presents thousands if not tens of thousands of opportunities for mishaps. And not necessarily that the street is inherantly dangerous (either by design and/or areas it traverses).

So a lot of accidents have happened. So what? People have died on the 57 freeway too.

You don't like Beach, then take Magnolia. Or Valley View. Or sit home.

Oh wait. You can't do that either. I just slogged through that mess of a thread you started about open doors and whistles.

I also saw that thread about "open doors whistles" and I agree with you Jackie100, you do need to be aware of your safety - not be obsessed but aware. I wish my daughter did the same. I took a self defense course through my employer and the guy teaching it recommended that we all read "The Gift of Fear". I read the book and gave it to my daughter. She did not read it and her husband told me I was "insane" for instilling "fear" in my daughter. I tried.

In case you haven't seen the book, "Gift of Fear" perhaps it would be worth a read - not that I am trying to instill "fear", but a friendly recommendation. Oh and stay out of isolated places, especially car parks and woods.

Cheers.

Beach Blvd. is actually more dangerous in Buena Park than HB, I think. *lol. It's just a real busy street in HB, so there are going to be traffic incidents.
