Default California Coast University

Has anyone gone to or know anything about the 'California Coast University'? They are an online school/degree program out of Santa Ana and have been around since 1973. Would appreciate any info since I'm trying to finish my bachelors degree (more than 1/2 way there already) and they seem to have accelerated programs. Thanks!

Are you talking about Cal Coast University | Online Degree Programs? From what I've seen, they seem to be a good online school for the price and they also seem fairly reputable. I say go for it after you do your research.

Isn't getting a degree online like buying a diploma? Nobody has ever heard of this place, be careful.

Yes, there are some places where you can "buy" a diploma. These shady places are called degree mills and are usually characterized by "too good to be true" claims such as getting tons of credits for "life experience," offering a full degree within a year or even six months, and having fake accreditation agencies credit them with accreditation.

However, there are a ton of legitimate online colleges which are fully accredited, ensuring the quality of their education. This is a big, booming industry and more and more people are turning to online education. Even schools such as USC have fully online degree programs. It's definitely not for everyone. Just do your research on accreditation for the particular school you are interested in - there are a lot of scams out there.
