Why Is San juan Capistrano so run down down and crappy.
This City Seems Very run down To me and has ALOT OF Hispanic Residents in it. Which is not a problem. But Every Person in this town Seems Mexican. I have noticed That it is Very Depressing, Everyone seems pretty sad taking The bus and Living there crappy life's. It seems, And It is also run down and Poorly Maintained. At least it seemed to Me. Why is it like this? I wouldn't At all call the place Ghetto. But its really Poor And The Shops Are Very Worn Down. It just seems like a really Crappy place to live in, The houses are small and run down.... SO why is San Juan Capistrano all crappy? Compare to irvine which was alot nicer when i went there! Lots of Gangs Developing in this city from what i see from time to time. Anybody explain why this town sucks so much? It seems as if There is a Few Rich White People Living on The Hills in This Town and 99 Percent of the population Are Very poor Hispanic Residents.... No offense to anyone who lives in san juan capistrano. Im just wondering why a city is so crappy like this.

Did you lean English spelling, punctuation, and grammar at some runned down schools in San Juan Capistrano?

San Juan Capistrano is the oldest place in all of Orange County. Old stuff isn't shinny and new and sparkling like the cities that surround SJC like Irvine, Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo, etc... San Juan Capistrano has construction from the 1700's and 1800's while all of those other cities like Irvine are mainly 1960-2009 construction.
11% of the population is below the poverty level and there is a lot of poverty in certain neighborhoods, specifically "La Zanja" and "Capistrano Villas," but you pretty much exaggerated it. San Juan Capistrano has long been a Hispanic community, especially at its heart surrounding the mission. There is a gang problem there and 43% of the population is Hispanic, not 99%.
I hope you aren't a product of Capistrano Unified. I know CUSD schools in SJC can be bad, but I pray they aren't that bad because your grammar is even worse than the illegal immigrant riding that bus in depressing San Juan. One thing SJC does have going for it is some unique history and culture and pride in its Hispanic heritage as the town with one of CA's finest missions. The Swallows Day Parade is when SJC comes to life.

How much time have you actually spent exploring the town, random capitalizer? You come off as totally clueless in your assessment. You're so far off base it's laughable.
As far as comparing the place to Irvine, SJC has been settled for well over 200 years. Irvine is a master-planned community that's barely 40 years old.
EDIT: Missionhome beat me to it.....

You OC people are jokes sometimes.SJC run down?Really? If it is not Watts,Detroit,Baltimore, parts of Miami or any other place like those above cities it's not run down.If it is not a Lake Forest,Irvine,or San Clemente it gets a bad wrap up there.I have heard that "Santa Ana is a no go zone" but I've been through it,stayed there a few times no problem. And I'm Black!Just because it's a place has a high number of Hispanics(or minorities in general) it doesn't mean it's ghetto or run down. Some Orange County residents need to diversify themselves.
Just like Fontucky said "You come off as totally clueless in your assessment. You're so far off base it's laughable."Very true.

I've heard that the swallows are leaving, or said more accurately, "not returning." Is this true?

Another consequence of the budget cuts. The swallows are looking for more affordable nesting without Mello Roos.

No offense, you must be kidding!!! If I were living in the town I would certainly take offensive in more ways than one.
