Default Best areas in OC for Liberal, Lesbian, Environmentalists???

Hi everyone,
I have just been transfered to the Orange County area for work (my girfriend and I live in the Palm Springs area). Does anyone know of any areas, or maybe even live in an area, that is gay friendly? I know most will say "no", but I have to believe that there must be some areas/cities within OC that are gay friendly and health conscious. Help!
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I really appreciate it!

The best area for you if you're looking for like minded people is coastal Long Beach(which borders OC). Otherwise: Many of the beach cities will be the best bet. Lots of young people(more accepting socially) and the live and let live laid back mentality, also they are generally fairly active areas because of the beach and they have the shops to support that lifestyle.

Long Beach as others have said, but of course it isn't really OC. The other area that comes to mind right away: Laguna Beach, but OC is huge with lots of traffice, etc so you want to try and find a location not too far from work. I f you are working in NO OC it might be a little more difficult. I think the good news is, no matter where you live in todays world, people are more accepting than in years past.

Thank you for the replies. I am indeed working in the North Orange County area (Fullerton). I am terribly unfamiliar with the area, as I've lived in Palm Springs for a very long time. We are not into bars, clubs or anything like that. We are much more into health, and the outdoors. The suggestions for beach living is probably right on point. We'll do some research. Thanks again, and any other ideas will be more than appreciated!

Downtown Long Beach / Belmont Heights / Belmont Shore area is gay-friendly, walkable, and has that laid-back, California beach vibe. It's about 20 miles from Fullerton (maybe would take 40-45 minutes each way during rush hour?), which isn't super close, but you would probably really like the area. Best of luck!

Laguna Beach would be your best bet in Orange County. It has been gay and lesbian friendly for years. However, it is extremely expensive. Long Beach would be the next best bet, it borders Orange County and is more affordable. As other have said there are lots of gay and lesbian people in Long Beach, I believe the city has a gay pride day/parade every year.

Also the tags of "liberal" and "enviromentalist friendly" certainly apply to Laguna as well.
