Default Coronado south or Park Newport

I am moving to Orange county for work and I am in the process in deciding which apt complex to move into. I was there this weekend and saw them both first hand. The Coronado is offering me a 1 bed room for 1151 and Park newport is offering me a studio for 1131. I am looking for honest answers I have heard and read both good and bad things about both places I just want honest feedback so I can make the right decision regarding both places. This is an accelerated move so I don't have time to come back from NJ to look at any more places. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I decided on Coronado a couple hours ago. The apt was nicer and the rent was comparable. but thanks for your tip. I apreciate it. The area by the Coronado was fine from what i saw.

The area around Coronado is fine, it is just the Coronado that people don't like, but don't worry about it too much. You made your decision, from I remember lease breaking terms are pretty reasonable there.

Going to Irvine from that point, 55 to 405/5 will be slammed so I would avoid that and take some back roads around the back bay.

The great thing about the Coronado is the location, you'll be able to ride a bike to Newport or Huntington Beach. There is a also a decent Greek Food place in the plaza next to you. 17th st has an awesome Surfshop called "Surfside", natural food store called "Mothers Market & Kitchen". I think you will enjoy it for your first move to California.
