Does anyone know how long it will typically take to drive to San Diego from Laguna Niguel on a Friday evening about 5 or 5:30 departure? I know usually takes about 1 hour 15 minutes with no traffic.

Friday's are brutal. Big "getaway" surge heading south. This could easily be a 2-3 hour drive, depending on traffic. And it will be thick traffic all the way down.

If you leave by 3 you should be able to enjoy the regular 1:15ish drive time
