Info for event ci10625469 (http://quake.wr.usgs.gov/recenteqs/Quakes/ci10625469.html - broken link)

It was a 2.7 almost right under The Camp on Bristol. I'm within walking distance of there and I think this is the closest I've ever been to an earthquake. It shook for maybe 5 seconds and was strong enough to get my attention but made me wonder if it was a particularly heavy truck going by.

Funny how being right on top of a shaker makes a difference. I had a friend who was on top of the epicenter for a quake in Newport Beach and she called me half scared out of her wits. I was 10 miles away and hadn't felt a thing.

I felt this quake this past Monday night. I was home in my condo in Irvine when I felt a quick jerk. I was not sure if it was an earthquake or not. I was wondering if it was an earthquake or my neighbor causing the jerk. I turned on the TV, there was no report of anything until perphaps 15-20 minutes later when the news mentioned about a 2.7 earthquake in Costa Mesa.
