Your English is a lot better than my German.

You might try contacting The German American Society of Portland Oregon - German Culture in Portland, German Clubs in Portland, German Saturday School in Portland - they can help you find German-speaking people in Portland, and maybe find a job too!

Welcome to Oregon

I grew up an Army brat. We were stationed by Mannheim drei jahre.

Good Luck finding your place. We love living in the mountains.

It is always more of a challenge to find a rental with pets... especially 3 dogs.

Your best bet will probably be dealing direct with the property owner or calling management companies and asking up front for listings that allow dogs.

Good Luck...

Parts of the Pacific Northwest really remind me of Bavaria... especially Western WA

Hi Sissia -

My husband's mother and her family were German (Nurenberg) - her name was Waltraut, which I thought was a lovely unique name. Germany reminded me of Oregon where I grew up, and I know his mom felt very much at home in Oregon. When we visited Germany, Dh's Omama would still cook for the whole family, and she was in her 90s! Such good food and people there.

It will be more of a challenge to find a rental that will take dogs, but if you found a place in Utah where you could have your dogs with you, you will eventually find such a place in Oregon too.

Best of luck in resettling here
