Turkeys are not native to Oregon. The turkeys you see wandering around are the Rio Grande variety, obtained from Texas as part of a wildlife exchange.

Other common intruders are Himalaya blackberries, imported by the Chinese in the 1870s, and opossums, which rode in on the railroads around 1930.

Nice shot of the Bay at night. I remember going there for clams about 10 years ago - my first clamming adventure.

We have a whole bunch of turkeys down here in Applegate Valley too. Southern Oregon is dotted with them now - certainly engrained into the natural environment.

What camera are you using for your pics?

I use a Sony DSC-F717...it is a great all around camera. I have been looking at the new Nikons for a while, but the Sony works so well for me I can't justify buying a new camera...lol!
